Church weekend away Sept 2023

This year, the church family went to the Emmaus Youth Village residential centre in Consett, County Durham. It was an excellent weekend in very good accommodation which catered from small and older children, teens and adults. There was time for teaching, prayer, discussions, worship, fun and fellowship. There was time to talk to new people and to renew old friendships.
Matt Oliver, a gifted communicator and pastor at Hardwick Baptist Church near Stockton, taught us about how the suffering church reached out in faith and confidence to God in the book of Philippians.
The children and young people had a separate programme. We had a riotous quiz night which included making an image of ‘The Angel of the North’ out of toilet roll and using sticky fingers to make tall (collapsing) structures from marshmallows and spaghetti! Games playing, and art and craft making were also prominent in the programme. The following images are from a session led by Rebekkah Scott.
We are planning to go again at the beginning of September in 2024. Let Elly, Jennie or Don know if you want to come. Thanks to them for their planning and organisation.
